THE PSYCHIC BASES OF FANTASY, THE INDIVIDUATION PROCESS AND HUMANIZATION IN PINOCCHIO

This work aims to reflect on fantasy as a literary genre that knowledge its bases on how the depths of our psyche leading the reader to contemplate and experience the impossible, crossing the limits of their existential situation and expanding as an individual's experience. In this sense, we will seek to understand how unconscious imagery, symbolic and archetypal instances are manifested in aesthetic creations of this kind, in an attempt to mimic an incomprehensible, intangible and immeasurable world that balances with man in his material and logical-rational dimension. Finally, based on the figure of the character Pinocchio, created by Carlo Collodi, we will reflect on how the articulation of real and psychic experiences are essential in the transposition of psychic stages, without self-knowledge, without knowledge of the world and in the individuation process.
